I have extremely wide set eyes (interpupilary distance of about 80mm). It's
a curse for anyone buying binoculars since virtually none of them spread
that far. Even the ones that advertise an interpupilary distance of 80mm
don't actually spread that wide (in my experience).

For anyone with a similar problem there's a new binocular line called
Celestron Ultima that is the first binocular I've been able to use
comfortably. These are not a particularly good buy for birding since the
close focus is only about 18 feet and the field of view is somewhat small
(that may just be the ones I bought); but the optics are ok and what a
relief to be able to just pick them up and put them to my eyes.

I don't sell optics and have no interest in Celestron.
