Several folks who participated in the Thunder Mountain outings last year
indicated an interest in our workshops in the area. There are 2 series of
workshops that might be of interest to Tweeters subscribers, the first is
a back-to-back workshop on forest ecology (June 26, 27,28) and wetlands
ecology (June 28-29). These 2 courses can be taken separately. Emphasis
will be lower elevation temperate forests and wetlands (in the Okanogan of
course). The second series is July 24-27 and will focus on the boreal
systems around the Thunder fire area. The last 2 days of this workshop
will emphasize some of the research projects that are ongoing in the area.
All workshops are in the field, hands-on learning. And yes, there will be
time for birding. In fact, if anyone is interested in helping with some
song bird surveys, let me know. More info on these workshops and research
projects is on our web page:

or drop me a line. We will also be sponsoring some one day hikes for
botany-birders, akin to last years (but with better weather and more
birds).
