Subject: many Vaux's Swifts

Yesterday evening just before sunset my husband and I went out on the
back porch to look at a double rainbow- the added attraction was a
skyful of assorted swallows and at least 40 (I couldn't count them all,
they were coming at me so fast) Vaux's Swifts. We're located two blocks
from Genesee Park and about 6 blocks from the Sayres' Pits- the bluff
just south of the pits seems to be a favored spot for Swifts during the
summer, but I've not noticed them this early in the year before. Anybody
else out there seen any?
