Well, folks.....this is the third and last report on my trip to Calif.
This concerns Tule Lake, Calif. an d Lower Klamath NWRS. Klamath Marsh
NWR was very beautiful, but didn't yield anything new in the short time
I had Left. Upper Klamath Lake was beautiful against the backdrop of
snowy mt. peaks. The lake had quite a few White Pelicans swimming around
on it. Anyway......here goes Tule Lake and Lower Klamath Basin NWLR:

Redheads(8)
Canvasbacks(about a dozen)
Ring-necked Ducks
Red-necked Grebe(1)
Clarks Grebes(many)
Western Grebes(zillions!!!)
Eared Grebes(frequent)(in summer plumage)
Yellow-headed Blackbirds(very numerous on the south end of the
refuge...)
Red-headed Blackbirds(everywhere!!!!)
Brewer's Blackbirds
American Avocets(very numerous)
Black-necked Stilts(also quite numerous)
White-faced Ibis(many)
Forster's Terns
Caspian Terns
White Pelicans(many!!!)
Snow Goose(3)
Ross' Goose(( a large flock--about 60 or 70!!!)
Canada Goose( the larger non-migratory species.....many pairs with large
groups of tannish goslings tagging along)
Willets(3)
Golden Eagle(picking at a dead rabbit on the road!!!)
Calif Quail(quite a few)
Double-crested Cormorants
Marsh Wrens
Black-billed Magpies(several)
Savannah Sparrow
Rock Wrens
Killdeer
Logger-head Shrike(1)
Semi-palmated Plover(1)
Greater White-fronted Geese(4 very large flocks---about 70 geese per
flock)
Several species of Swallows
Brown-headed Cowbird
Say's Phoebe

ETC....ETC.....ETC.........

This is what I observed in the relatively short time I had. I know that
there is *plenty* more out there that I missed!!!! In my next trip to
this area I intend to spend a much longer period of time in this
absolutely wonderful 'birder's paradise'!!!!
