Jerry,

I just love hummer stories. While I was at Lost Maples Park in Texas
two weeks ago, I had a "To Close for bins" experience. I was searching
the trees for Warblers when a Ruby-throated Hummingbird came buzzing
past me. It searched through the leaves near me and then it buzzed up to
a spider's web and plucked the small spider out of the middle of the
web. It was amazing how fast it happened. One second the spider was
there and the next second it was gone and so was the hummer. Nothing
remained but a small hole in the center of the web.
