Yvonne--

here's one..

When I was on sabbatical at San Diego State U. in 1982 I used
to go to the zoo and sit in the hummingbird aviary. It was an
amazing experience as they had every kind of hummer immaginable
from weensy ones to an occasional one as big a sparrow!
One time I was sitting there..and the hummers, not infrequently,
would buzz you and check you out, when a little girl about 3 in a
pinafore dress came in with her family. She was eating an ice
cream cone..a STRAWBERRY ice cream cone..sighh-hhhh...
suddenly there were hummers all over the place checking it out.
And, you know how startling they can be..well, she began crying
So I sat there WITH MY 35MM CAMERA IN MY LAP and watched this
terrifically cute little girl, ice cream cone, tears streaming
down her little face all twisted up with a hummer WHIRRING in and
around her cone...and didn't take the picture...
