We went birding up the Wenas Valley this morning (for Yakima Valley Audubon's
Birdathon) and identified a Chipping Sparrow on a telephone line across the
road from a marshy area where we also ID'd a Common Snipe, Mallards,
Red-winged Blackbirds. I haven't seen a whole lot of them (CSs) compared to
the number we would see around home when we lived in San Mateo County,
California.
