Hi, Peggi. Sure enjoy your Tweeters notes. I just uploaded my
observations of an Evening Grosbeak dying in a feeder in response to
Debbi's note. I didn't want to say Salmonella because I'm not an
expert. But I've seen Pine Siskins die the same way, in a feeder with
feathers fluffed and taking an occasional munch or two, and of course
with Siskins the usual comment from those who know is Salmonella. Like
I say, that the birds appearance and behaviors while dying appeared
similar is not a real diagnosis, but it was interesting to read your
note that Grosbeaks are prone to the same disease. Thanks.
