A (presumed Western) Scrub-Jay just flew across in front of my window
(Union Ave. & 14th in Tacoma), following a Steller's Jay. The Steller's
kept heading east, but the scrub perched for a long time in the top of a
tall Douglas-fir, then flew off to the north. I could just imagine the
thought percolating in its head--"now where do I go?"

It appears they move in the spring as well as the fall.
