After reading the notes on CEDAR WAXWINGS
in several Oregon locations, thought I'd add
that a flock of 12 birds also appeared in our
yard in Sumner, Washington (Pierce Co.) on
Saturday (5/10) and was still there Sunday.
A territorial YELLOW WARBLER has been
singing for at least a week in the yard too. It
has been interesting to read all the postings
of first sightings this year from a more
northerly position (we lived in Corvallis, OR
up until about October of last year) because
my first yard sightings were roughly the
same dates as what everyone else reported
for orange-crowned warblers, nashville
warblers, western tanagers, etc.
