Hi Everyone -

Have you checked out the Ohio Division of Wildlife's WebCam yet? It's
viewing an active Peregine falcon nest, where several young have just
hatched this weekend. There were four eggs, but it is difficult for me
to tell how many chicks hatched, as Mom Peregrine is mostly sitting on
these little white balls of fluff to keep them warm. I think there are
four.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife has given names to Mom and Pop falcon -
they are Aurora and Bandit, respectively.

The nest box is on the 41st floor of the Rhodes State Office Tower in
Columbus, Ohio. The picture is updated about every five minutes. You
have to hit your Reload button to get the new picture.

Also, if you visit this site, check out the Highlights (button below the
Peregrine nest picture). There are some great photos of the Peregrines
incubating the eggs, and recently some pictures of the chicks were added.

What a great thing Internet technology is! We would never have the
chance to see these events unfold (without disturbing the falcons), if
not for this wonderful development. The pictures are very clear, the
WebCam is very close (and they are in color!).
