I saw my first Olive-sided Flycatcher of the year Sunday at Discovery
Park. It was not calling (no beers for me), but had the
characteristic 'unbuttoned vest' look on the front, white tufts on the
lower back, and a short-looking tail. I'm so used to hearing these
and 'knowing' them without looking at them, that I had to look the
bird up in my field guide to be sure...I guess I'd never really looked
at one before...

I also saw 2 Pileated Woodpeckers near the visitor's center, and about
20 Black Brant near the beach.
