On April 16, Madeleine Brown reported an OSPREY behind the 2440 Stevens
Building parking lot and Ruth Fischer observed an OSPREY over the Chamna
Preserve.

The following day, Ruth Fischer noted a female CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD at her
feeder and also saw an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER in her yard.

Also on April 17, Dennis Rockwell found a RED-NECKED GREBE in the Columbia
River off Two Rivers Park.

My wife, Pat (Woodley) observed a GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW in our yard on
April 18.

On April 19, Terri Warner found a GREAT HORNED OWL in the Chamna Preserve
and Dennis Rockwell reported 7 CINNAMON TEAL, a male EURASIAN WIGEON, and 21
BLACK-NECKED STILTS in the pond along Highway 12 at milepost 300.

Bill and Nancy LaFramboise, hosting 5 birders from British Columbia, had a
big day on April 20, with a FERRUGINOUS HAWK and CHUKAR in Webber Canyon; 2
GRAY PARTRIDGE, 2 GREAT HORNED OWLS, a PRAIRIE FALCON , a SWAINSON'S HAWK
and 2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS on the south slope of Rattlesnake Mountain; 3
AMERICAN AVOCET 1 GREATER and 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS on the Yakima Delta. They
also had a GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW in their yard on April 21.

April 21 was also SANDHILL CRANE day. Ron and Carol Louderback saw about
100 cranes over Kennewick, Madeleine Brown saw about 120 over Richland and I
saw 2 flocks over Richland, 1 of about 80 and the other of about 150.

I also found a WESTERN KINGBIRD near the north end of Harris Street in
Richland and a HOUSE WREN on Bateman Island on April 21.

The following day, Nancy LaFramboise found the first reported BANK SWALLOWS
just west of the Bateman Island causeway.

Ruth Fischer reported a pair of HOUSE WRENS nesting in her yard and Cameron
? saw a WESTERN KINGBIRD along the Kahlotus Highway.

On April 23, I found an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER in my yard and another in
Groves Park. While today (April 24), Dennis Rockwell saw a NASHVILLE
WARBLER in his yard in Two Rivers Park.

Lastly, Nancy LaFramboise and I birded Bateman Island today (April 24) and
observed NASHVILLE and ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW and a
HARRIS' SPARROW among the more common species.
