A good and interesting day at Marymoor. About 45 species.

There are three baby Bald Eagles on the nest! I saw all three and an adult
simultaneously and distinctly. The babies look to be about the size of a
chicken, and look rather like plucked fryers that had a run-in with some glue
and some dryer lint.

First-of-the-year for my Marymoor list include:
Black-headed Grosbeak MF
Bullock's Oriole MF

Other notable sightings:
MacGillivray's Warbler On the slough path North of the dog area parking
California Quail Perhaps 3 birds - they are not common there
Virginia Rail Adult and perhaps 2 babies, too close to focus
just east of the lake platform.

Since last week, they cut down the entire row of cottonwoods on the west side
of the Clise mansion. These trees (unlike the row on the south side) were NOT
rotten. I do not understand.

I was relieved to see that the Hairy Woodpecker nest, located less than 15
feet away from the cutting, does not appear to be adversely effected. I
observed the female bringing food to the nest, and saw a baby poke it's head
out. Heard some Marsh Wren babies at a nest near the rails, and saw lots of
nest building behavior by many species.
