Was riding my bike(pedal 'un yourself kind) around Puget Island in the
Columbia River(halfway between Longview, Wash. and Long Beach, Wash.
Gorgeous weather, but *hot*. Saw a number of songbirds that i have seen
before, along with Ospreys and several common hawks. But I did see a
*first* (for me!!!)-------an Eastern Kingbird (on a telephone wire).
Identification correct. The Audubon field guide says:"......Basically an
eastern bird but widespread in the Rocky Mountain states and western
provinces, reaching the coast in southern British Columbia and
Washington, and the wesrern valleys of Oregon. Migrates sparingly
through the pacific and southwestern states........."
-------Others may have seen this species around, but this was the
*first* time I ever saw an *Eastern *Kingbird around this area!!!!!!
