Made my first trip of the year to a favorite Kitsap County Birding spot.
39 species were seen on The Kitsap Audubon trip that I led with the
following highlights. If anybody needs more info on the spot, email me and
I will gladly supply the help.
Highlights:
Mountain Quail
4 Flycatchers-Olive-side, Hammonds and Pacific-slope were numerous.
6 warblers:
~12-15 Hermit Warblers (3-4 were hybrids)
~15 Mac Gillvaries Warblers
Blue Grouse
Solitary Vireo nest
A fledgling winter wren (was not aware that they fledged so early).
All totalled Green Mountain has yielded 71 species in my visits (Spring
and Fall) and ~25 species confirmed nesting.
Truly a great place.
