Sadly, I found a red crossbill dead outside my front widow yesterday
morning(near the entrance to Windemere, off Sand Point). I suspect that it
flew into the window, though I could find no evidence of it. As this is the
second time in 6 months that this has occured, I am looking for suggestions
to make birds more cautious. Would an owl figure be of any use here?
Also looking for suggestions, references, etc, for an upcoming trip to
Namibia/ Cape Town. I have a Sinclair bird field guide. If anyone has any
experience, particularily with Cape Town in their July winter, I would
appreciate any input.
