A nice day at the park, which featured "The Return of the Willow Flycatcher"
-- they were singing everywhere. None last week. Also, two male Bullock's
Orioles - it seems to be a good year for them.
We had a three-heron day with Great Blue and Green Herons, and a great view of
a Bittern right next to the parking lot.
There was a young Bald Eagle, possibly first year, hanging out in the
cottonwoods near the boardwalk. At the nest, we saw both parents and at least
one baby. And while we were there, an Osprey flew overhead.
Many mosquitoes, several garter snakes, a dead mole, and a magnificant pink
moth rounded out the day.
