Hi folks,

I was driving through the south Capitol neighborhood of Olympia on =
Tuesday evening, when I saw a couple pair of Swifts circling between =
Capitol and Washington. I stayed on the sidewalk until 9:01pm, when I =
watched 4 birds go into a chimney of a white house on the NE side of the =
corner of 25th and Washington.

A far cry from the hundreds of birds going into the chimney on 18th (?) =
late last summer, but it's a start....

Also, got the following message from Noelle Nordstrom about a swift =
'stake-out', which I unfortunately can't make it to this evening....

Just a reminder that tonight a South Capitol neighborhood "stake-out" =
has
been planned to try and find chimneys being used by Vaux's swifts.=20
We'll have people posted at chimneys that have been used in the past,
chimneys that look promising, and at points where there is a good view
of the neighborhood.=20

Let's meet at 8pm, near the locker room at Steven's Field. (The locker
room has a large chimney, and is one of our sites.) Steven's Field is
located on 24th Avenue, one block east of the intersection of 24th and
Capitol Way. If you are traveling south on Capitol Way from downtown
Olympia, you will make a left onto 24th. If you cross I-5 while on =
Capitol
Way, you have gone too far.

I hope you can make it! Let me know if you need more info. My home
phone # is <SNIP> Thanks! =20
