Paul - I was there about 4 years ago at Christmas time. Right on the island
of Cancun is an archeological site, which proved to have good birding as well.
My wife and I spent an afternoon there and in some adjacent land which was
being developed. [It actually looked like they had started development and
stopped it -- I don't know the fate of that land]. We saw around 35 species
including Plain Chachalaca, some kind of parrot, Gray Hawk, and many different
herons.

Tweets,
I will be attending a conference in Cancun this Nov. and will
have some time for day trips in the area. Can anyone recommend some good
birding sites nearby and whether a rental is required to access these.
Suggestions on alternate access (buses, taxis, etc.). Will likely be
making a sojourn to Cozumel for endemics.

Thank you,
Paul Duval
