I think the field guides misrepresent the tail on the Winter Wren. My
impression is that it is short, but not as short as illustrated.
Peterson(Western) makes the tail appear almost non-existent, whereas ABC, NG
and Golden all show the tail a bit longer than that. Further, the WIWR I see
don't always have their tails straight up in the air, so that the tail again
appears longer.
I'd love some feedback on this.
