I spent alot of time out in the yard this weekend and did finally see decent numbers of chestnut backed chickadees. They are still outnumbered by the Black Capped chickadees maybe 2 or 3 to one, but they are around. I think with flock formation taking place, the chestnut flocks might be a bit scattered. Anyways, it is not like they all disappeared like I was beginning to think last week.

Thanks to those who responded to me directly. I am glad that nobody else seems to be noticing a chestnut chickadee decline.
