What a fantastic topic! I've noticed through the years that a great many
group together in Carkeek Park in Seattle. There is also a great accumulation
of them over the Thornton Creek area. Every night from 7:50 pm to 8:15 they
would roost and gather through the summer nights and fly due east after their
numbers would accumulate to 200+. I always thought "where are they going?"
and "why stop here every night like clockwork?"
I also read a very interesting article with "pictures" about animals and
playtime. The photographer witnessed and documented a crow walking up a small
hillside of snow and sliding down it on it's back. The crow repeated this
process like a small child on a new slide. I believe the article was called
"Animals at Play" and I can't remember if it was, LIFE or National Geographic.
It was a fascinating article to read.
