On October 22, Nancy LaFramboise, Duane Faletti, and I (Bob Woodley) saw an
AMERICAN TREE SPARROW on the northwest corner of Bateman Island.

A BLUE JAY was reported October 26, by Mary Harbinson in a tree at 1949
Thayer Drive in Richland.

On the Yakima Delta on October 28, I found 7 SURF SCOTERS and 1 female BLACK
SCOTER.

A pair of BARROW'S GOLDENEYE were observed Marilyn Lawrence on October 29 on
the 16th fairway lake at the Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland.

Also on October 29, Ruth Fischer, Nancy LaFramboise and I saw 8 TUNDRA SWAN
across the Columbia River from Columbia Park and a single GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE in Two Rivers Park in Finley.

On October 30, Phil Bartley discovered 3 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS off the
western shore of Bateman Island. And on November 1, Phil reported a GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE and a THAYER'S GULL on the Yakima Delta and with Dennis
Rockwell observed a NORTHERN SHRIKE and SAVANNAH SPARROW on Bateman Island.
He noted a GREAT EGRET off Columbia Point.

On November 2, Phil Bartley found 3 LINCOLN'S and 1 FOX SPARROW in Madame
Dorian Park and 2 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, a very late COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, a
TUNDRA SWAN, and an immature BALD EAGLE at the pond at the McNary National
Wildlife Refuge Headquarters.

Also on November 2, Mike and MerryLynn Denny reported 3 blue-phase SNOW
GEESE and 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE at the overlook pond east of Madame
Dorian Park and 1 SURF SCOTER on the McNary Pool. A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK
remains at Madame Dorian Park. A GREAT EGRET has returned to a field along
Detour Road between Lowden and Walla Walla. At the Habitat Management Unit
at the end of Rice Road, north of Highway 124, the Dennys found LINCOLN'S
AND SAVANNAH SPARROWS and a FEMALE HUMMINGBIRD, PROBABLY ANNA'S, feeding on
a still blooming honeysuckle.

Lastly, the GREAT EGRET remained on the Yakima Delta today and off Columbia
Point was a female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER.
