Touching back on a recent thread, the only lower Cook
Inlet sighting of a Yellow-billed Loon in recent memory
was last year between July 31 and August 6 on Big Lake,
north of Anchorage about 60 miles. It was in breeding
plumage. My friend Delesta Fox, who documented it,
sees Commons in breeding plumage into September
on the same lake.
