Here is my current sale list. The prices include 4th class shipping,
except as noted. Prices are in U.S. dollars and must be paid by cash or
check. Refunds are available within ten days of your receiving the book.
Discounts are available for purchase of multiple items, and it never hurts
to ask if you like the book but don't like the price.

AOU. Check-list, 5th edition. 1957. 1961 printing "with minor
corrections." The one with the subspecies. Binding loose on front hinge,
ex-library copy with discard stamps. Prices for this book are going up
fast because the word is out that the seventh edition won't include
subspecies. $45.00

Arbib, R. The Lord's Woods. 1971. Bob Arbib was the editor of American
Birds magazine and a great nature writer. This is the story of his own
coming of age as a birder, and the good times in and ultimate fate of a
tract of forest where he first discovered the joy of birds. Hardbound with
protected d.j. A very hard-to-find book. $15.00

Banko, W. 1980. The Trumpeter Swan. Paperbound, 214 pages, loads of
information about this species, photos, life history, studies. $8.00

Ennor, H. 1991. Birds of the Tri-cities and vicinity. Covers that region
of southeastern Washington. Wirebound status and site guide. Very good.
$10.00

Gabrielson, I. and F. Lincoln. 1959. Birds of Alaska. Hardbound with
scuffed and chipped d.j. The binding is loose but the innards are very
good. This book if solidly bound with d.j. normally sells for $200 or so.
This copy is $120.00 because of the loose binding.

Gabrielson, I. and S. Jewett. 1940. Birds of Oregon. Dover reprint, but
hardbound, a library discard with card pocket etc. still in it. $25.00

Kofalk, Harriet. 1989. No Woman Tenderfoot: Florence Merriam Bailey,
Pioneer Naturalist. The wonderful biography of the first woman to become
an elective member of the AOU. Near-fine condition with d.j. NOTE: the
publisher only has 20 left and this book will soon be OP. $18.00

Lansdowne, J. Birds of the Northern Forest. One of the fabulous series of
color-plate books showing off the art of Lansdowne. Large quarto with d.j.
OP, normally sells for $100. $65.00

Merriam, F [Florence Merriam Bailey]. 1896. A-birding on a Bronco. I
have read all of Bailey's books and this is the best from a literary
perspective, an excellent collection of material about her birding
activities in southern California near the turn of the century. This is
the rarest of her books. Small green hardcover with gold lettering. Line
art by L. A. Fuertes - this was the first book he illustrated, even before
"Citizen Bird." $45.00

Morrison, R. and R. Ross. 1989. Atlas of Nearctic shorebirds on the coast
of South America. 2 volumes paperbound quarto. This provides great piles
of data on the distribution and abundance of "our" shorebirds when they are
on wintering grounds in South America. Published by the Canadian Wildlife
Service, with its customary attention to detail and quality. $28.00

Pacific Seabird Group. 1975-1986. Most issues of the Pacific Seabird
Bulletin from 1975-1986, but missing a few. Also a few duplicates, inquire
if you are filling a set. $40 for the main run, $3.00 each for singles.

Phillips, A., J. Marshall and G. Monson. 1964 [1983 printing]. Birds of
Arizona. A masterpiece of regional ornithology, with photos and full-page
color plates by George M. Sutton. $60.00

Roberts, T. Manual of the birds of Minnesota. 1974 printing. One of the
best keys available for the species that occur in its coverage area, with
detailed information on plumage, molt, soft part coloration and other
characteristics. Very useful in the northwest for waterfowl, raptors, many
sparrows and others that occur across the continent. 250+ pages, flexible
binding. $18.00

Skutch, A. 1973. The Life of the Hummingbird. Fascinating text and some
of Arthur Singer's best art showing more than 80 species in color. With
protected d.j. $19.00

Watson, C. 1982. Index to Oregon Bird Reports in Audubon Field Notes and
American Birds, 1947-1981. 79 pages paperbound. New. $3

Williams, J. 1963. A Field Guide to The Birds of East and Central Africa.
A solid, very good copy of this out-of-print guide, with protected d.j.
$19.00

LATE ADDITION: A friend of mine wants to sell his four-volume Birds of
Afric set and is asking $200 for the set. Let me know if you're interested
and I will pass the word.
