3:05 p.m. This is Ruth Taylor, 206.525.6345, with a very belated report
from sunday the 26th. Sunday morning Judy Duvall and I birded the Lummi
Flats and the Samish Flats in deteriorating weather conditions. One of
the things we were looking for was ROUGH-LEGS. We were able to turn up a
couple on the Lummi Flats, one of which was an adult female, but couldn't
find any on the Samish flats. Also on the Lummi Flats, very active in
late morning were three SHORT-EARED OWLS. Only thing noteworthy on the
Samish Flats was a HARLAN'S HAWK on Dorothy Rd. Also, on saturday evening
right at dusk, 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS at the north fork access on the Skagit.

Monday, 10/27/97 7:29 p.m. Hi, this is Dave Beaudette, 206.365.2083.
Today, Oct 27 at the Horse Pond along Three Crabs Road in Clallam County,
was a single juvenile PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER. That's all for now.

Sunday, 10/26/97, 5:38 p.m. Hi, Scott Downes, 361.7073. Today I led a
group of birders from Kitsap Audubon out to West Point, and we had a
couple very good birds. One was a dark phase PARASITIC JAEGER, which was
harassing a flock of HEERMAN'S GULLS. The other was an adult winter
plumaged LITTLE GULL in a flock of about 280 BONAPARTE'S GULLS directly
opposite West Point. That was about 2:45 this afternoon. Good luck and

Sunday, 10/26/97, 3:00 p.m. This is Steve Hosmer [sp?] at 425.889.2169.
Sunday morning at about 10:00 the LITTLE GULL was still present at Rosario
Head, feeding at the base of the cliff, among kelp beds, along with a
small group of BONAPARTE'S GULLS. Also seen further offshore was a group
of 21 ANCIENT MURRELETS.

Sunday, 10/26/97, 1:42 p.m Hi, this is Steve Mlodinow. Earlier today at
the Everett Sewage Ponds there was a FORSTER'S TERN and an EARED GREBE.

Sunday, 10/26/97, 12:46 p.m Hello, this is Marty Anderson, 253.813.0502.
At the Kent Ponds this morning I saw a group of 4 SANDHILL CRANES flying
into the small pond at the north end of the old pond complex.
