Last winter I glanced out in the backyard and there sat a beautiful hawk,
(coopers, sharpshinned?) I do not know. It startled me at first because it
was sitting in the apple tree with its wings 1/2 spread watching the hedge
line intently. I ran to get my camera and upon my return witnessed as it
quickly left the branch and dove into the hedge after a sparrow. Remarkably
swift and beautiful.
