Hi tweets,
a bird checklist for the Squamish Estuary (1h N of Vancouver B.C. on the
way to Whistler) has just appeared. It is done in the standard format of
the B.C. wildlife watch lists, and a major contributing force were
monthly bird counts, done by locals with some help from birders from the
VNHS. Talking about experience, and learning on the go! The result is
nevertheless a very nice list: Relative abundance of species might be too
low, indicating low coverage of the area, and species which need good
ear-birders might be underreported (flycatchers?) but it gives certainly
a good picture of the area with 207 species.
Compiler of the list is Jim Wisnia whose e-mail I can find for anybody
interested in.
