Hi, Tweets. This has nothing to do with birds but figured that someone may be in a dark enough sky/northern enough latitude to watch for it. As you may know, there was a gigantic solar storm on Tuesday. Since it usually takes three days for charged particles to make it from the sun to the earth along the solar wind, tonight is the night for intense auroral activity. The aurora of March 1992 was seen as far south as the Caribbean. Will be interesting to see what the extent of this event will be. There has just been the garden-variety aurora here the past few days.
