I have a thistle feeder on my patio which attracts pine siskins and
goldfinches and I have had this same problem. I don't know how to help the
birds who have hit the windows, but I have hung a large mesh net (1 1/2"
squares) from the eves to cover most of the window and a sliding glass door.
This seems to take care of the problem. Another alternative is that you can
buy "hawk" decals and put them on your window. I don't know how effective
they are, but I have seen them at Wild Birds Unlimited.
