hi linda,
I live in fircrest in tacoma, a community which have lots of fir-trees. i
kind of study my birds in my yard.only i had one White-Throated Sparrow in
10 years,he only stayed two days.so if i get onother bird of this
species,it would be a different bird.in you case since you keep track of
dates every year at the same time, it sound to me like it is the same
bird.on this particular species one can tell.i took photos of
5White-throadet sparrows, each of them loocked differant. for one think
there have two races.the tan-striped which are the most seeing around here,
and there is the white-striped phase, which i had. also some birds have a
more striking eyebrow.sally hill which live in graham had a White-Thoated
SPARROW for years she could tell,it wa the same.since you have this bird
so long, study also behaviour. like where this bird stays mostly in you yard
feeding and how he is using the bird- bath, only you can determine if it
is.is easy for me, because i take photos and compare.you din't mention if
you have other sparrows present.like Golden-crowned and White-crowned
sparrows
