the South Jetty of the Columbia River, Clatsop Co., OR

Method: Untimed count 100m west of "3 rocks" on
top of SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: This is an untimed (unofficial) count. A very large feeding flock
of BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, BONAPART'S GULLS and CALIFORNIA GULLS was working
the oceanside edge of the jetty this morning. Only 1 BROWN PELICAN and 2
HEERMANN'S GULLS were seen during the observation period. Large numbers of
PACIFIC LOONS and RED-THROATED LOONS are still present as well.
