The Port Townsend Marine Science Center's birding cruise to Protection
Island also included a side trip to Smith & Minor Islands. We had a great
group of birders aboard and, while we didn't spot the Brown booby which had
been reported on Protection Island on 11/7, we did view approx. 12 - 14
Black Brandt on Minor Island and a LARGE (20 - 30) flock of Oldsquaw on the
south side of Protection Island
