Sightings for Saturday, November 8th

The ROCK WREN was observed from various locations between the foot of
Beecher to the foot of Blackie Lane in Crescent Beach. Also at Crescent
Beach
was the ROCK SANDPIPER accompanying SANDERLING near the foot of
Sullivan. Nearby at Blackie Spitt was the LONG-BILLED CURLEW, an EARED
GREBE and a late BARN SWALLOW.

The 3 AMERICAN AVOCETS were sighted near the mouth of the Serpentine
River. This area can be accessed from 131st south from Colebrook Rd.

Boundary Bay R.P. produced 5 GREATER YELLOW-LEGS, 2 TRUMPETER
SWANS, and a EURASIAN WIGEON.

Two other EURASIAN WIGEON were seen between the Tsawwassen and Coal
Port Jettys along with a BLACK OYSTERCATCHER, and 10 BRANT.

A PEREGRINE was observed near the foot of 64th at Boundary Bay.

Another PEREGRINE was seen at the Reifel Refuge. Other birds of note at the

Refuge were a NORTHERN GOSHAWK, a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, 8
TRUMPETER SWANS, 2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON, 2 GREATER
YELLOW-LEGS and a EURASIAN WIGEON.

Friday, November 7th

A LITTLE GULL was seen in Active Pass from the 7:00 AM ferry crossing to
Swartz Bay.

The ROCK WREN, ROCK SANDPIPER & YELLOW-BILLED LOON were
observed at their usual locations at Crescent Beach.

10 BRANT were seen at Boundary Bay Regional Park and another 24 between
the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty and the Coal Port Jetty.

14 TUNDRA SWAN were observed in a field near Splash Down Park on Hwy #
17.

A BARRED OWL was observed at the unlikely location of Pidgeon Park at
Carrell & Hastings in Vancouver.

Thursday, November 6th

The ROCK WREN was reported near the end of Balckie Lane which is south of
Beecher in Crescent Beach. The YELLOW-BILLED LOON and ROCK
SANDPIPER were also present.

BRANT are beginning to move into the area with 7 seen at Boundary Bay
Regional Park and another 14 between the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty and the
Coal Port Jetty. Two EURASIAN WIGEON were also recorded at Boundary Bay
R.P.

Two BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were observed on the Tsawwassen Jetty and
with 6 more seen near 2nd Beach in Stanley Park.

The COMMON EIDER was seen off the foot of 22nd in West Vancouver.

Wednesday, November 5th

A female TUFTED DUCK was sighted on the south shore of Stanley Park's Lost
Lagoon. A RING-NECKED DUCK was also observed.

The COMMON EIDER was observed off the foot of 24th in West Vancouver.
