The Barrows Goldeneyes are back at the locks, about 20, fairly equally
divided m/f. They were at the small beach in Commodore Park with 4
American Wigeons 2 female Common Mergansers and a dozen or so Mallards
and Coots. No Belted Kingfishers today, the last time I saw a female
was Nov. 1st, a male only once since then. The usual crowd of gulls and
crows were also present.

If those of you in Seattle want to see a bit of a feeding frenzy, they're
draining the large lock for maintenance starting midnight on the 14th of
November. The crows and gulls usually go "nuts" (I know, that's
anthropomorphic.) when they can reach the bottom, so the morning of the
15th should be interesting.
