This morning at about 0800 I saw two male Northern Harriers make several low
circles above Red Square (at TESC here in Olympia), just before they flew
away to the northwest..one of the birds turned and made a strange
vocalization to the other--kind of low pitch croaking noise (it made me think
of an egret.). Has any one else observed this type of behavior? It seems
strange for this time of year.
