I think I had about a quarter ton of Bush Tits in my backyard yesterday. I
have one of those upside-down suet feeders out, and I had a chunk of my
homemade suet in there. I glanced outside, and saw the feeder had turned
into a roiling mass of gray/brown bodies! There were at least 10 on the
screen, and about 10 more desperately trying to hang on to small bits of
the screen or part of other Bush Tits. Occasionally one would drop off,
and be replaced by another of the 20 or so waiting in the nearby holly
tree and blackberry bramble. It was quite a sight!

There were also a couple chickadees fighting for space, which is
definitely NOT what I'm used to seeing from 'my' chickadees! They're
usually quite timid in my yard. Visiting 'chicks, perhaps? Would they
hang out with Bush Tits?

The cats were glued to the window, watching the frenzy.
