This is Kas Dumroese with the northern Idaho / eastern Washington /
northeastern Oregon bird hotline.

A PACIFIC LOON was seen below Dworshak Dam, near Ahsahka,
Clearwater Co., ID, on Sun, Nov 2 by Deb Beutler. To get to the
locale, start at Orofino, ID and follow the signs to Ahsahka, going past
the fish hatchery. When you reach Ahsahka, follow the sign for the
dam powerhouse, not the visitors center. About 0.8 mile up the road
there's a nice pullout on the right side of the road. Check here. ID
DeLorme 58, C-3.

A single SNOW BUNTING was seen around Newman Lake, Spokane
Co., WA this past week by Howard Ferguson. Sorry, no details. WA
DeLorme 89 B-8.

Another single SNOW BUNTING was seen tonight on my driveway by
Dan and Ila Svingen. As soon as I get done with this, we're going to
see if we can find it again. I live 5 miles south of Moscow, Latah Co.,
ID. My phone number will be at the end of the tape.

A single SURF SCOTER was on the display pond of McNary NWR
southeast of Burbank, Walla Walla Co., WA on Nov 2 according to
Mike and MerryLynn Denny. A little further south at Madame Dorian
Park, which is just north of the junction of US 12 and US 730, the
Dennys were still observing the RED-SHOULDERED HAWK. On Nov 2,
Phil Bartley found 3 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS in the park as well. WA
DeLorme 40, CD-1.

A GREAT EGRET was in a field along Detour Road between Lowden
and Walla Walla, Walla Walla Co., WA on Nov 2, according to the
Denny's. Detour Road runs east/west about a mile south of US 12.
WA DeLorme 40, D-4.

Twelve CATTLE EGRETS were along the east shore of Banks Lake, in
Osborn Bay, just southwest of Electric City, Grant Co., WA on Nov 6,
according to Gary Kuiper. WA DeLorme 85, A-8.

A single BLUE JAY was reported from Chewelah, Stevens Co., WA
this past week by Howard Ferguson. WA DeLorme 104, B-3.
Although two BLUE JAYS were residing near the University of Idaho
Arboretum in Moscow, Latah Co., ID since early October, apparently
only one is persisting. Look and listen for the bird in University
Heights on the southwest end of town, south of Taylor Ave, west of US 95,
and north of Palouse River Drive.

If you view any of these birds, please let the hotline know.

If you need more information, give me a call at 208-883-0943.

Good birding!
