Rare bird alert for an out of town WHITE-WINGED DOVE.

Sightings for Monday, November 17th
A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island
at Tofino. The bird is frequenting a feeder located behind the Roy Vicker's
Gallery.
Also in the same area seen near the Legion is a TROPICAL KINGBIRD. For
further details call the Victoria Bird Alert at 250-592-3381.

Closer to home the PRAIRIE FALCON was again reported from Brunswick Point.
The
bird has been frequenting trees near a farm about 1/2 way between Robert's
Bank and Brunswick Point. Also seen on a raptor census taken in that area
today were 4 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, a HARLAN'S RACE RED-TAILED
HAWK and 260 TRUMPETER SWANS.

At Boundary Bay R.P. were 96 BRANT, 3 EURASIAN WIGEON and 2 BLACK
TURNSTONES.

Sunday, November 16th
The WILLET, a BLACK OYSTERCATCHER and an AMERICAN BITTERN were
reported from the Tsawwassen Jetty.

Nearby at Brunswick Point was the PRAIRIE FALCON, 25 TRUMPETER
SWANS and a MERLIN.

At Iona R.P. were 6 REDHEADS, a NORTHERN SHIKE and a MEADOW LARK.
Two SNOW BUNTINGS were seen on the South Jetty.

Twelve BLACK TURNSTONE were observed at Port Moody's Rocky Point Park.

Saturday, November 15th
A PRAIRIE FALCON was located today in poplar trees along the dike approx
1/2
way between Robert's Bank and Brunswick Point.

The COMMON EIDER was seen at various locations along the Stanley Park
Seawall from east of Siwash Rock to the mouth of Beaver Creek. Also at
Stanley
Park's Ferguson Point were 5 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS and a possible
ROCK SANDPIPER.

A trip up Mt. Seymore lead to the sighting of 2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS
on the Yew Lake Trail. Also seen were a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER and
12 BAND-TAILED PIGEONS.

At the mouth of Cypress Creek were 9 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS and a
MARBLED MURRELET.

The ROCK SANDPIPER was reported from its usual location at Crescent Beach.

The 3 AMERICAN AVOCETS were seen at the mouth of the Serpentine River.

Two COMMON REDPOLLS were seen in overflight from the 900 block W. 58th.

A LEAST SANDPIPER was observed near 34th St. & 33A Ave. Delta.

Two PEREGRINES were sighted at Robert's Bank.

A COOPER'S HAWK was seen at the foot of 64th at Boundary Bay and an
AMERICAN KESTREL near Hwy #17 & 56th.

Another AMERICAN KESTREL was sighted east of the Pitt Meadows Airport.

In the Pitt Meadows area along Rennie Rd. were a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, a
HARLAN'S RACE RED-TAILED HAWK and 2 NORTHERN SHRIKE.
