Tweets--

this week there was an informative session in Olympia
about the proposed 15 year plan for the Nisqually
National Wildlife Refuge. A *worksbook* was handed
out which puts forth several concerns about various
aspects of the Refuge and asks for input. It's possible
to request one of these from the Refuge, fill it out
and maile it in. they are due by Dec 5, so there is
still time for many of you who ar concerned about
the Refuge to make your druthers known.

As them to mail you the *Issues Workbook*..(it's 7
typewritten pages complete with maps of proposed dike
breaches, etc..)

It also has a little box to fill out so you can get on
the mailing list and they will keep you informed of
what's happening with the plan.

Item 2: Capital Lake

Attention Olympia Area birders and concerned folks
tonight Thursday Nov. 20, 1997 there is a meeting
at the Olympia Center Room A at 6:30 PM to discuss
the options for Capital Lake--which go all the way
from status quo to removing the dike and letting the
entire lake area return to salt water estuary with
a meandering Deschutes River.
