A week or so ago there was a thread on Tweeters about the missing
Chestnut-backed Chickadees around the the Sound. I saw my first of the
season today at the home feeders, SE corner of Lacey. Four CBCs with one
or two Black-capped feeding at the same time. From 9 a.m. thru dark, off
and on. And , of course, House Finches, Red-wings, Starlings, Juncos
and a neighborhood cat.
On week-days I go and return from work in the dark, so I can't say when
the CBCs first appeared here. But I FeederWatched last Saturday and
Sunday and saw no CBCs at all, just BCCs, so they must have arrived
between last weekend and today. They were eating heartily today.
