A couple of years ago on the Sauvie ISland CBC, my group found a wintering
roost of Mourning Dives gatehring in late afternoon that numbered
approximately 200.

I'd also note that this is another bird that has benefitted from feeders.
My father back in Omaha has a resident bunch of 4 or 5 that stay the
entire year, even through the coldest of the cold (-20), with food and
