I think we should all feel a sense of shame! Has no one considered that the
poor hummer, being so far from its homeland, was somehow related to the
exposing of drug-smuggling in Baja and that it was transported to its present
site by the Mexican authorities as part of its witness protection program. We
have all played, myself now included, a large part in blowing its cover! By
our incessant posts here, we have probably also deprived ourselves of future
sightings of Mexican exotics, for the Mexican government will surely become
quite leery of sending other birds to our area.
