This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Bird Alert for November 12,

A BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, a new bird for the Tri-Cities, was discovered by Ed
Rickel (sp?) along the bicycle path behind WSU in North Richland on November
4. It could not be relocated the following day.

Also on November 4, Nancy LaFramboise found a GREAT HORNED OWL, a WINTER
WREN, GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS, and a FOX SPARROW along the Audubon Nature
Trail in Columbia Park.

And Randy Hill of Othello reported 4 GREAT EGRETS along Highway 26 near the
Adams/Grant county line. He also noted that SAVANNAH SPARROWS are still
present in the alfalfa fields.

On November 6, Peter Olmstead of Grandview reported a BLUE JAY in his yard.
It has remained for several days.

Dennis Rockwell rediscovered the RED-SHOULDERED HAWK in Madame Dorian Park
on November 8 and while there noted 29 TUNDRA SWAN fly over.

A HOODED MERGANSER male was seen near the Bateman Island causeway on
November 9 by Dennis Johnson.

Ruth and Larry Fischer found GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES on November 9 on the
top of Badger Mountain on the north side of the fenced area.

Also on November 9, Dennis Rockwell observed an adult GOLDEN EAGLE along
Beck Road, south of Kennewick and the following day he saw an immature BALD
EAGLE in Two rivers Park in Finley.

Good numbers of DUNLIN and LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were still present on the
Yakima Delta on November 10 (Bob Woodley). And on November 11, Ginger
Wireman reported a BALD EAGLE on the Delta.

Lastly, also on November 11, Patty Pollari reported a male EURASIAN WIGEON
and female HOODED MERGANSER in the pond in Columbia Park where people feed
the ducks.
