Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Wednesday November 26. If you have anything to add

A BLACK PHOEBE is now at the Washougal Sewage Ponds along Highway 14 at
mile post 17.5. It is a very rare species in Washington state.

A probable YELLOW-BILLED LOON was on the Chetco River in Brookings
November 19. Many RED PHALAROPES were also in the area.

An OSPREY and an OLDSQUAW was at New River November 21. A ROCK SANDPIPER
was at Cape Arago that day. Two MARBLED GODWITS, a LONG-BILLED CURLEW,
and a WILLET were at Pony Slough on Coos Bay November 20. That day a
TROPICAL KINGBIRD, two BLACK PHOEBES, a PALM WARBLER, and a late
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE were on the North Spit of Coos Bay.

A SABINE'S GULL, a POMARINE JAEGER, 45 FULMARS, and two LEACH'S
STORM-PETRELS were at Boiler Bay November 20. There were also a number of
RED PHALAROPES and some MARBLED and ANCIENT MURRELETS. A RED PHALAROPE,
an OLDSQUAW and some BROWN PELICANS and HEERMANN'S GULLS were at Yaquina
Bay that day. A PALM WARBLER was along the Science Center Nature Trail at
Yaquina Bay November 25.

A CATTLE EGRET was along Highway 101 at the Nestucca NWR November 20.
Several hundred BROWN PELICANS were gathered at the mouth of Netarts Bay
November 22. Three WHITE-TAILED KITES were at the Tillamook Airport that
day.

TRUMPETER and TUNDRA SWANS are now on Black Lake in Ilwaco. Over 2400
DUNLIN were on Clatsop Beach November 22, along with a number of dead
FULMARS.

Six CATTLE EGRETS and 10 GREAT EGRETS were in Scappoose Bottoms November
24. A good sized flock of SNOW GEESE are also there. Two OSPREY and up to
12 GREAT EGRETS continue to be seen at Oaks Bottom in southeast Portland.
On November 24 a BROWN PELICAN was observed flying southwesterly over
southwest Portland.

A group of 8 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were on farm fields near Hopewell,
east of Amity November 22. A SURF SCOTER was at Scoggins Valley Park the
next day. Over 1500 TUNDRA SWANS are now in the Forest Grove area. A late
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT was near Canby November 22.

Birders checking a large sparrow flock at Minto Brown Park in Salem
during the week found a TREE SPARROW, a HARRIS'S SPARROW, 2 SWAMP
SPARROWS, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, as well as
the usual wintering species.

RED PHALAROPES were reported at the Philomath Sewage Ponds and at Finley
NWR November 21. One was at Fern Ridge Reservoir the day before. A GOLDEN
EAGLE was at Finley NWR November 21. Two WHITE PELICANS were near Orchard
Point at Fern Ridge Reservoir November 22, along with two colorful Cotton
Pygmy-Geese.

A probable MOCKINGBIRD was in Roseburg November 20. A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK
was near Grants Pass November 21. A HARRIS'S SPARROW is now coming to a
Bend feeder.

Two CATTLE EGRETS were near Hermiston and another was near Stanfield
November 21.

A flock of 17 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were in Fields in southeastern Oregon
November 21. They are very uncommon that far south.
