This is the Vancouver, B.C. Bird Alert for Tuesday, November 25th, 11:00
P.M. update.

The Rare Bird Alert continues for the XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD.

Featured birds this evening are XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD, HOUSE WREN, and
YELLOW-BILLED LOON.

Sightings for Tuesday, November 25th

The XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD was again at 221 - 2nd St. in Gibsons.

The bird continues to give excellent views to visiting birders. Thus far
the home
owners are allowing birders to observe the bird from the fence at the end
of their
driveway. The feeder is only a meter or so from the fence at the end of the
driveway
affording excellent looks. Photographers are asked to use common sense not
to
cause the bird undue stress. The home owners would appreciate visiting
birders
sign the provided guest book.

Directions to 2nd St. are as follows. Take the Langdale Ferry from
Horseshoe Bay
which is north of Vancouver. When leaving the ferry follow Hwy #101 towards
Gibsons
and Seschelt. While passing through Gibsons watch for a Tim Hortons/Wendy's

on your right. The intersecting road just past this point is Pratt. Turn
left onto Pratt and
follow to its end at Gower Pt. Rd. Turn right and follow this road to 2nd
St. Turn right
and proceed uphill to 221 which is on your left. There has been a saw horse
in the driveway.

The alert would appreciate updates on the Xantus' from birders.

SNOW BUNTINGS were reported from Harris Rd. in Pitt Meadows with 4 and 1
from
the Iona Jetty. Two CLIFF SWALLOWS and a BARN SWALLOW were observed over
the sewage ponds.

A HOUSE WREN was sighted on Sea Island in the old Cora Brown Subdivision
west of MacDonald Rd.

Two CRESTED MYNAS were seen on 2nd, between Alberta & Yukon.

PEREGRINE FALCONS were reported from Vine & 41st and the foot of 12th in
Tsawwassen.
Also seen at this location were 3 EURASIAN WIGEON, 55 BRANT and a
SHORT-EARED OWL.

The YELLOW-BILLED LOON was relocated at Crescent Beach, south of Blackie
Lane.
Also at Crescent Beach was the ROCK SANDPIPER at the foot of Sullivan.

Monday, November 24th

The XANTUS' continued at Gibsons. Off shore not far from it's location were
2 ANCIENT
MURRELETS.

Sunday, November 23rd

The XANTUS' was present in Gibsons.

A HOODED ORIOLE was reported from the Terrace area coming to a hummingbird
feeder.
It has beenpresent since Wednesday, November 19. For further information on
this bird
call Cheryl Thomas at 250-635-2506.

A RED PHALAROPE was observed feeding with MEW GULLS offshore at the end of
12th St. in Tsawwassen.

A HUTTON'S VIREO was sighted at Lily Point in Point Roberts.

An AMERICAN TREE SPARROW was reported from the East dike at the Reifel
Refuge.

On the dike near the Swan-e-set Golf Course in Pitt Meadows were a BARN OWL
and a
SNOW BUNTING.
