Hello,

well I made a trip along the Olympic Peninsula on Sunday, the weather was
fairly decent at times, with mass numbers of waterfowl and gulls, I won't
name all the species I saw, but the highlights

Oldsquaw
Harlequin Ducks
all 3 Scoters
Black Oystercatcher LIFER!! at tongue Point
Red Phalarope another Lifer!

I did not even know I had seen a Red Phalarope until today, tuesday the 26th,
I saw a single phalarope and another group of two in the water right in front
of the 3 Crabs Restaurant. I took several pictures, thinking that they were
just late Red-necked Phalaropes, not even giving a though about possible Red
Phalaropes.

So today, I read the BirdBox post by Brent (Griffin or Grissom), reporting
Red Phalaropes at the 3 crabs, and sure enough, after examining my pictures,
they were indeed Red Phalaropes! Thank goodness for Pictures,
I was able to clearly see the white forehead with blackish nape, and the gray
back with no sharp lines as in RN Phalarope,

Usually, I leave my camera at home, I sure am glad I didn't this time!
