I, too have been wondering when the VARIED THRUSHES will show up. It's
unusual because by this time I can usually look outside just about any
morning and find a whole flock of them gobbling worms in my back yard.

Has anyone noticed a lack of Varied Thrushes this year? Last winter, our

first one didn't come until Thanksgiving, but we had about five the rest

of the winter. I saw one in our yard in October, the day after the first

mountain snowfall, but he was eaten by a Cooper's Hawk about a week

later. Has the weather just been too mild for them to move yet, or is my

yard just devoid of them for some reason?
