Just got off the phone with Mike Denny. They did not go look for the
purported Band-tailed (Belcher's) or Black-tailed Gull today. They have no
further news on it.

Mike tells me now he has kept quiet about this bird, because "I don't know
what to make of it, except side by side with California Gulls, it has an
obviously different appearance with a distinctly red-tipped beak and
striking narrow vertical black band just behind the red."

So, as I explained to Mike, I was going to update Tweetsville on this
report and wanted to convey as accurately as possible the current thinking
on this "mystery" bird.

So, Tweets, you know all I know. I will be there around noon Saturday to
check it out
